In case of interment, the deceased is buried in a coffin in a cemetery. Generally speaking, a solemn ceremony takes place prior to the burial. This ceremony can be organised according to the individual wishes of the bereaved. The coffin is then carried from the room where the ceremony was held to the grave and the mourners pay their last respects to the deceased before the coffin is lowered into the ground.
It is also possible to have an anonymous interment without a funeral service. This option is chosen if no further services are required – for various reasons - if for example, the deceased person decided during their lifetime that they wanted to be buried without a funeral service and without identification of the grave.
